Happy Thanksgiving

Our Thanksgiving wasn't all we thought it would be. Landon, you got the flu on Monday before Thanksgiving and then mommy and daddy got the flu on Wednesday. That means we had to cancel our plans and call everyone to tell them we could not have it at our house. We had planned on having aunt Amy and uncle Chris and your cousins, along with gramma Peggy and Jim, and gramma Mary and grampa Leon all over for lunch. It was not very pleasant at our house as we were all sick at the same time. You seemed to be feeling good during the day but then at night you would always start vomiting. It was so hard to see you sick- mommy or daddy even slept on the floor in your room a couple nights to make sure you felt extra safe and so that we were right there when you needed us. Mommy let you sleep on the air mattress in your room with her- that was the first time you slept with one of us. You did a great job tho you took up the whole bed laying side ways. Mommy didn't care though because you were all snuggles. We did get to have Thanksgiving on Saturday with your gramma's - that was a great time. It was even a really nice day outside and you got to spend some time out in the nice weather.
We also put up the Christmas tree and the lights outside. You were such a big help handing daddy the different branches to put together. You also had a great time going up to the tree and taking ornaments off or just looking and pointing. You got in trouble a couple of times so now you know that we just look at the tree instead of taking things off the tree. Sometimes you point and say "ooooohhh." It is exciting to see you learning and experiencing so many new things.
You are growing up so fast- you have become such a big boy. You are copying mommy and daddy alot more. The cutest story lately was when daddy shook his finger at you without saying any words and you looked right back at daddy, shook your finger and said "no, no, no!!!" (you do this while your mouth is in a big O shape and your voice gets deeper when you say it- we think you may be copying daddy's sound). You knew exactly what the finger meant without him saying a word. Now, you continually say "no, no, no" and think it is so funny- that's because mommy and daddy laugh with you and know you are just so darn cute. You also say "moo moo" when asked what a cow says. You are learning more and more everyday. We see how smart you are everyday. When we ask you if you are hungry or if you want to eat you go right to your high chair and wait for one of us to put you up in it. And when it is time for a bath- we say "bath time" and you go right up stairs to the bathtub. One of mommy's favorites is when you touch our toes and say "tickle tickle." It is so very appropriate.
Books are one of your favorites right now. You love feeling the pages and looking at the pictures. At times you are so much in a hurry that you don't wait for us to read it but instead you go and get another. . . and then another. . . and then another. We end up with lots of books to read all at one time. You are also getting so much better at playing on your own some but then you come over and lay your head on our knee or come up and grab our legs if we are standing as if to hug us!!! Oh how we love when you do that.
We continue to be so very proud of you and love to gush all over you! You are definitely the apple of our eye(s)!!!!!

Orchard Grove- Pumpkin Farm

By now you have been walking for a month and you are a pro. You love getting around on your own- you are such a big boy. We had been trying to get to the pumpkin patch all season but due to bad weather or sickness we weren't able to go until this weekend. There was only one other family there so we had the place pretty much to ourselves.
You loved riding on the tractor but couldn't reach the pedals yet so mommy and daddy had to push you around the track. You had a great time!
Then we walked around the Three Little Pigs houses'. You went inside to explore each house. And at the top of the house- the big bad wolf. It was fun meeting the Three Little Pigs.
We also spent some time looking at all the animals and even feeding some of them. You weren't quite sure what to think of some of them. The goats and chickens were a little scary for you but you loved the ducks. To mommy and daddy's surprise, you even said "duck." You are talking so much more now and able to communicate what you are wanting and needing. It is wonderful!
While on the hay ride, we decided to get off at the corn maze and give it a try. Landon, you were very interested in all the corn on the ground. We had a great time walking through and watching you experience all of it.And last but not least, you played in the corn pool. It was like being in sinking sand. You and daddy had a fun time going down the slide and crawling around in the corn. It was a little chilly outside but it was fun being able to be outdoors and experience all the fall fun! Landon, you make us laugh so much everyday. You are such a little ham. You are absolutely adorable and so much fun. You make us so very proud and bring so much joy to our lives!!!
