May Day

It is already May 1st. Time is flying by- but thank goodness that it is now May and most days are "beautiful outside" as Landon says. It has been wonderful to be outside with the boys and enjoying the nice weather.

Logan is walking all the time. He doesn't get too far before he falls to his knees but now he is pulling himself up and walking on his own. Outside he needs a little help as the ground is uneven, however he still has fun trying. He waves and says "Hi" all the time. Yesterday we were outside and he was yelling hi to all the neighbors. He is just so proud- it is so sweet. He talks a lot but most we don't understand. He sure is saying something though as he talks so proudly and smiling the whole time. He also loves to scream- I think hearing himself is a lot of fun for him. Usually it is out in public and then Landon thinks he needs to scream too. Lately we have found Landon copying Logan alot. You would think that it would be the other way around. Logan, however, is our little dare devil and he will stand up on toys or push a box over to a table or chair and then climb on the box to get on the table or chair. Then you look and can't help but clap and smile at him as he sits there with a beaming smile. Landon will stand up on toys like Logan, he crawls after Logan, and lately we notice him with his arms under Logan's and half carrying him and half helping Logan walk. When Landon isn't being too rough Logan loves it and they have so much fun together.
Landon is a pro at driving and steering the powered jeep. Logan sits next to him as he drives full speed round and round the house. Last night the little neighbor girl came over and rode in it with Landon. Daddy sent me a picture and it was labeled "first date." I wasn't home but daddy said that Landon was so proud driving Katie around the neighborhood. Last year he was too scared to even ride in the jeep while another friend drove it but this year he is able to weave through obstacles (like in Gappa's shed) and drives in fast gear and even uses reverse. Logan loves riding in it and will stand up while Landon drives by in full speed. It is so fun for us as parents to watch- it is so grown up for someone under the age of 3.
That's not all that surprises us with Landon and acting so much older than 3. He is talking and saying more and more things that stun us. The other day I told Landon it was time to go inside and he just looked at me and said "I got stuff to do, I got stuff to do!" Then he picked up some sticks and walked them over the the trash can and threw them away. When asked to do something by daddy or mommy he says "Okay Okay OKAY. Bossy." It is so funny. He is just so serious. At night when we sit down and watch a television show with him he will sit between us and pat our legs or arms and say "hey guys!!!" And one of my other favorites happened last night. Daddy was having a hard time getting Landon to stay in bed and the third time he went in to check on him all of Landon's stuffed animals were all over the bed and floor. Daddy asked him if he got his stuffed animals out and Landon said "no." He got a spanking and then he looked at daddy all serious and pointed his finger at him and said "Buzz not animal! George (Curious George) is animal, Buzz is not!!!" Greg couldn't help but smile a little and asked what Buzz is then and Landon was silent for a moment thinking and then says "Buzz is Buzz." I know this isn't rocket science or anything but first of all it is just adorable but second it is really smart for a 2 year old to know that the monkey George is an animal but that Buzz is not- and he is right!
Yesterday we had another first- the ice cream truck stopped on our street. Landon was so excited. He picked a spiderman ice cream bar. He didn't like it a whole lot but Logan did- and Logan eats most anything. Landon did like daddy's snicker ice cream bar though!!! How exciting though for them to experience that. They just loved it!!!
Landon got to go fishing with Gappa last week too! They didn't catch anything because it was too cold out but now Landon talks about going fishing all the time. He had such a wonderful time.
Landon and Logan had an Easter Egg hunt at the indoor playground last weekend. We were there on time but by the time we got back to the room that the toddlers were searching for eggs, Logan got one egg and that was it. Landon didn't get any. It wasn't that well done but at their ages it didn't matter too much. The owner gave some eggs to Landon since he didn't get any and then the boys got to play. They both got tattoo's- Landon got three!!! He just loved it. Then for Easter service the boys both wore little suits. It was so adorable!!!
Gramma Mary was diagnosed with Lymphoma before Christmas and has been going through chemo and radiation. We have gone to see her many times- sometimes I go by myself and sometimes I take the boys. We have told Landon that gramma is sick and so when I am gone with gramma, Landon asks "You take gramma to doctor?" And I say yes. Then he will say "gramma ok mommy?" Again I say yes. He is just so sweet and loves his gramma. She is finally done with all the treatment now. She is weak and will continue to be weak for up to a year or so but we are so excited that the treatment is done. Continued prayers for the cancer to stay away and her to be cured/healed are appreciated.
