Our mini vacation to Omaha!

As a family we went to Omaha for a couple of days. We took the kids to the Childrens Museum and the Zoo. Both of which they loved. We were actually very impressed with the Childrens Museum. We have one in Des Moines but the one in Omaha is more geared for kids Landon's age. There was so much for both boys to do. They had play equiptment (above). . .

And a little table of water- which Logan could NOT get enough of.
Logan of course did everything he could to drink the water. Everytime he would leave to do a different activity he would run right back to the water.

Landon had fun in the water too.

They got to crawl around in the fire truck and wear a fireman hat.

Landon spent alot of time here in the grocery store. This was my favorite part too. They got to walk around with a little shopping cart and pick out lots of different foods (fake foods) and then take them up to the counter. Landon would fill up his cart, put it on the counter and then go back to fill up his cart. He did this three times so there was alot of food for mommy to put back!!!

Our little shopper- so proud!

Logan had fun with this too but this is where we would lose him back to playing in the water!

This may have been Landon's third time with a full cart.

Then it was time to go upstairs and play chef. These hats are so cute.

Both had on the hat and apron- our little chefs- adorable.

They had a dinosaur exhibit. Lots of sand, a playground, animals, and even crafts!

They got to dress up like little men going on an exhibition? I am not real sure what you call this look but they had fun with their binoculars and gear.

And then digging for fossils!

Here they got to color a dinosaur and glue it on a stick to make a dinosaur puppet. Daddy got to help Landon with this!

And then dress up like dino-birds! Play time is always more fun when you get mom and dad to dress up too!

We can NEVER pass up a John Deere tractor!

They had a big ball room with the suction and technology to float, shoot, and suck balls in every direction.

It was just so much fun watching Landon and Logan interact with each other and having so much fun at all the different stations here.

After the museum we went back to the Hotel so the boys could go swimming before eating supper. Then again in the morning the boys went back to swimming. Here they are taking a break and eating breakfast!

It was a fun little pool for the boys. It had a frog with a slide and then a big umbrella with water pouring out and even a bigger slide which both boys like best!

Logan is such a little dare devil and he loves the water. You have to keep a close eye on him because with no fear he will jump in even deep water.

Here is the little frog slide- Logan refused to go in on his tummy feet first and would end up going so fast that he would tip backwards.

Landon loved it too! He's bigger so he would slide down like a pro.

Don't let this picture fool you- Logan is with daddy here but he went down this slide all by himself many times.

It was so fun for me to sit and watch their expressions once they were down the slide and in daddy's arms. They were pure smiles and so proud of themselves. They had such a great time!

Now this is three boys having the time of their lives! I love it!

After swimming it was time to get ready and go to the zoo. Our first stop was the monkeys.

This ape just sat up by the glass and looked as if he was just staring at you. The workers said that he is their greeter. It was really cool to see him so close.

We spent alot of time at this exhibit just watching their behavior. We got to see them eating, playing, resting, and interacting with other apes. There was even a little baby one.

Then we made our way down to the train, carousal, and petting zoo. The train wasn't running which is Landon's favorite but they did get to play on the caboose.

Both boys love animals and every day they get more and more brave to go up and touch the animals.

This picture was taken last year of Landon in the mouth of the hippo- he is crying!

And here he is this year- crying again. We just had to show the difference a year can make- or NOT make.

Logan didn't mind it one bit though! He is such a little cutie.

The boys had a great time running around and playing int he caboose.

Then on to watch the penguins- which Landon calls "Happy Feet."

Watching fish- it was neat because they have the aquarium go overhead so as you walk all the different fish are swimming over your head.

The boys took some time out to play!

The jelly fish!

And Logan got a little worn out! It was nap time.

The giraffes were out eating- there were 5 or 6 of them out. It was fun just to sit and watch them.

We ended our day with a sea lion show. We didn't spend all day at the zoo but we were there long enough to enjoy many different animals. The boys loved it. It is just so much bigger than the Des Moines zoo and alot more animals to watch. We had a great couple of days together. Greg and I love watching the boys excitement as they explore!!!
