Wow, I can't believe it has almost been two months since I have posted. We are always out doing something so I am sure there is alot to write about but I am also sure that I will not remember it!!! I guess this pregnancy has been harder on me than I let on. . . .laughing out loud because those of you who talk to me frequently, and especially my husband, know that I have NOT been quiet at all about how this pregnancy is affecting me. I am probably a little too vocal. I am definitely NOT one of those women who feel better pregnant than not and I am also not one of those women who are so cute and all just belly. All of my pregnancies have been very different and man will I be glad when this cutey is born! I am very excited though to announce that I had my gestational diabetes test and passed. I didn't have it with Landon and then did with Logan so I was very nervous. It is my least favorite day during pregnancy getting tested for that!
Greg and I left the kids with our moms (they each helped out on different days and we were able to leave the boys at our house this way which was great for them so they had familiar surroundings) the first week of October and went on a cruise to Cabo Mexico. It was so great just to get away the two of us. I told Greg a hundred times how much fun I had with him and how much I loved just being with him. Not that I didn't know that before but with two little kids it becomes all about them. . . getting them involved in activities, playing, interacting, cleaning up after them, night time routines, discipline. . . the good and the bad . . .you sometimes just get lost in it all and spend most of the time robotically getting through the day. I NEVER want to forget what made me fall in love with Greg, how he makes me laugh, and especially I never want to take for granted how amazing he treats me and loves on me. I am truly blessed to have the most wonderful husband ever- I could go on and on gushing over how truly fabulous he is but I won't. This was just a great time to focus on us! With baby three coming we needed to do this!
Trick or Treat! Halloween --- Landon was Mater from Cars and Logan was Elmo. We took them to Halloween night at the library, Night Eyes at the Zoo, Beggars night in the neighborhood, and a Halloween party at our moms group. They were so adorable. We went all around the neighborhood this year. I think it was a little too much for Logan and alot to much for this mommy. Logan just wanted to eat every piece of candy as he got it. It is hard for a kid at that age to understand what is going on.
We are still working on getting Landon interested in potty training. I think we are going to start the three day potty training book and see if that helps. It will just be hard to stay home for three days to do it. We are always out and about going somewhere with friends or having people over. It makes the day go faster for me and it gets the kids to interact with others. It is a win win!
Landon and Logan are changing in their interaction with each other all the time too. Logan can take care of himself - he is a big boy so Landon needs to watch out even though Landon is older! Landon is still the protector though. When Logan gets in trouble and cries, Landon is right there saying "It's ok Loggy. It's ok. Don't cry Loggy!" Adorable. And when Landon is in time out Logan wants to go right over and sit with him. . . even though Landon is usually in time out for hurting Logan in some way. Too funny. We are trying to get Logan to use his words more. He still is not saying many words and I know this is common for the second child but we know he understands everything so we just wish we could get him to say it rather than motioning or grunting. Logan is in the spitting and throwing stage. When he gets mad he will just stop and spit and look right at you too. He knows it's wrong but his face gets so red and he is intent on letting you know that he was wronged. Logan also does this little walk where he bends a little and sticks his butt out- it is so adorable.
Landon got grounded for the first time this week. I am not sure he quite understands the concept but hopefully it will work. His favorite activity is playing with the iTouch and iPad. He got grounded for two days and we have had to remind him many times throughout these two days. It just may sink in. This 3 year old can do more on the iPad than I can and when he plays with it he has to teach me! Crazy kids and technology.
Logan's favorite thing to do is look at books. . . mainly animal books. He can point out every animal and has the cutest saying for horse. He says "gee up." Which means gitty up. He also has started being really interested in puzzles and yesterday he did a shape puzzle all by himself. With your second child it is harder to really focus on them learning through play. Either that or I am just not good at it with two kids. All that said, I realized yesterday that I need to make time to do that with Logan just as I had with Landon.
Better get this family of four thing down before we become a family of five!
