First Time to the Emergency Room

What a cute little man- and so brave. Even with sores on his face and after getting stitches he is still smiling. We knew our weekend was going to be busy but we didn't expect it to go quite like it did. We went up to Minnesota on Friday for my cousin Bre's graduation. Her open house was actually Saturday afternoon but we had a wedding back in Iowa on Saturday so we weren't able to stay for the actual open house. We got to Minnesota, stopped by IKEA to look at bunk beds and then over to the Steele's. We hadn't been there but an hour and I heard loud screaming. With two boys that didn't concern me too much until I heard Greg paniced and calling my name. Making sure Logan was being watched, I ran up the hill to see Landon covered in blood. We couldn't tell where it was coming from because blood was coming from his head, his eye, his nose, and mouth. Greg does a lot better in emergency situations we soon found out. He even had to tell me to console Landon. . . a mother should just know to do it but I think I was in shock. My aunt Tam took us to the ER- once there it didn't take long to get the process started.

They cleaned up his head and put on a topical numbing cream. This takes an hour to numb up his head but then they don't have to give him a numbing shot and scare him even more. So we sat and watched the children's tv for an hour. We realized that a head wound bleeds alot and we have since heard many people say this exact thing. It was just so much blood from the gash in his forehead. It is kind of sweet though because I have a scar from stitches in the same spot from when I was 7 years old. It won't really matter though because the Dr. doesn't expect Landon to have a scar from this. As we sat and waited I was hearing the whole story of what had happened. Landon was running towards the fire hydrant that had a big flag on it and as he was running, he tripped, and fell into the fire hydrant. Our poor sweet little Landon. But man, he was such a trooper. They came in and cleaned him up and got him ready for stitches. Landon winced a few times not knowing what they were doing but he did so good and was so brave. The Dr even commented on how good he was. After it was all done he even got a Popsicle- a red one and he loved it. When we got back to aunt Tam's, Grandpa Ron had a Batman kite waiting for him. He has already flown it outside and LOVES it.

He got his stitches out on Tuesday- and once again was a brave, big boy!!!

Family of Four becomes FIVE!

We are so excited to announce that we are pregnant with baby #3!!! Although already too tired for words chasing around two sweet little boys we are ready to welcome a new little bundle into our family the beginning of next year. We know we will have our hands full with three little ones ages three and under but we can't wait for the new wonderful challenge.
We found out last month- I took a test before going to work early in the morning. I saw that it was negative so I tossed the test in the trash and went to work. I got a call about an hour later from Greg asking if I had something to tell him. I was confused because he knows that I take a test every month- so why was he calling about that? He said "You sure you don't have something to tell me?" Again, I said no. He said "Um, you're pregnant!" I just kept asking "what?" I couldn't believe it. I obviously didn't wait long enough or didn't have enough light to accurately read the test. He took a picture of it and sent it to me on my phone. Needless to say it was exciting and yet odd that Greg knew before I did. He couldn't understand why I hadn't told him before I left for work- ha- because I didn't know!!!
As always it is a little early to share the news but that is how we are. We are too excited not to share it with the world. We do ask for prayers through our pregnancy and the birth of #3.
It is so much fun watching Landon and Logan interact so how much more fun to watch three sweet little ones play together and laugh together- most of all love each other.
