Summer time fun

Mommy and Landon at the Iowa State Fair. We are ribbons!Andrew, Landon, and Logan at the petting zoo at the fair. There was an awesome fire station set up at the fair. They had a mat for "stop drop and roll" and a fire truck that the kids got to sit in. There was also a dog that talked ( or the officers used technology and their voice to make it talk). They had a lot of fun. Here is the dog. Landon was a little afraid but Andrew and Logan loved it. And here is daddy and Landon doing the stop drop and roll. And Landonhelping Logan. They got to try on actual firefighter gear. Our little fire man. ADORABLE.And then they sat in the truck.Landon and Andrew rode in the boats.Bumper boats!and motorcycles. And then they rode in a car. . . they loved the rides.Saddle up partner!Daddy and Landon got to go down the slide together.Looks like a lot of fun!All three boys having fun in the plants and water.Little Hands On the Farm!!! Our boys got to do it twice and they loved it. They got to pick vegetables and ride tractors. They milked cows and picked eggs. Then at the end they went to the "farmers market" and "sold" back the vegetables and then got a treat.Landon is big enough to pedal it on his own now. What a big boy.Logan milking a cow- only water came out of these udders but it was a great simulation. Then Levi, Thani, Landon and Logan got to get together and play at gramma's. Landon loved following Levi around and he copied everything Levi did. They had fun splashing in the water- running and jumping.Alittle butt showing. too cute.Adorable Logan loving the water. . .and his brownies.Tractor rides are always a big hit.And all four went bowling. . . it was our boys' first time bowling!!!! It was so much fun!Logan needed a little help but he had a great time. Their faces were priceless. This summer we also got to go to the balloon festival in Indianola. They had tractor rides and slides and lots of food. . . and then the balloons. We went with Libby, Mark, Eddie, and Isaac. And the daddy's played with the little ones while the older ones played. And they all started wrestling together. Love how boys play together. And then we watched all the balloons.

Sweetest Interactions!

There is absolutely NOTHING better than watching Landon and Logan playing together. Sometimes it doesn't last long and sometimes it is just a glimpse of a smile from one to the other but those moments are priceless and make mommy and daddy beam with pride. They have done this a couple times in the past but today I got a little on video. . . Landon and Logan playing ring around the rosie. Logan just smiled from ear to ear as Landon held his hands and led . . . or pulled. . . him around in a circle and then "they all fell down." Landon wanted to do it again but Logan was done and started screaming. We go from laughter and smiles to chaos and cries very quickly in our house. Another sweet moment was when we told the boys to go upstairs because it was time to get ready for bed. Between protesting whines, I heard Landon say, "Come on Loggie. Lets Hide. Come here and hide with me!" While this was not real funny at the time ( sometimes parents just get cranky and worn out by the end of the day) because I wanted them to get in bed and wasn't in the mood to deal with chasing after them.
We have also noted many times where Landon is very loud, trying to wake Logan up. Other times he will just go in his room and wake him up though he has gotten in a LOT of trouble for doing this. There are even precious moments in the car. Landon and Logan's car seats are on opposite sides of the car but they reach their hands across and hold hands. This absolutely melts my heart!!! Landon will also try to comfort Logan at times when he is crying by rubbing his arm or his back and giving him kisses. It isn't always well received by Logan but it is the thought that counts. . . and there are many thoughts.
We think that Landon finally realizes that he has a little playmate and best friend in his brother. And Logan loves his big brother too. . . he loves to imitate him. Landon will walk around and say "I love my Loggie!!!"
No delusions though. . . there are many interactions that aren't so sweet and the sweet ones turn into bitter ones often but this post is about the sweet ones- and there are many of those too!

Too cute

I haven't been keeping up on the change in the boys with this blog lately. I really want to do this so that they can look back on these posts some day. We started this blog the day before Landon was born and this has become my kids' baby book! We have been so busy out doing activities that I want to concentrate on just Landon and Logan for a moment.
Probably the cutest face in the world is when Logan tilts his head to one side and gives a sheepish smile before turning his eyes away. I don't know why he does it but he does it often and it is so sweet. It melts my heart- in a way it is like he is playing but being bashful or something at the same time. His hair is so blond and shaggy too- absolutely adorable.
He gave Gappa a high five the other day and Gappa said "nice job" to which Logan very audibly said "nice job." It was his first two words together. He says "cheese" often too especially when the camera is out! He also says cookie and he says "this" and points all the time. He still isn't talking a whole lot but we are noticing a big difference lately with new words and especially more words. Logan is our little dare devil- afraid of nothing. He has more bumps on his head at any given time than I have ever seen on a kid before. Nothing seems to stop him. He jumps off furniture, wrestles with Landon, climbs on tables. . . and most the time it ends in some kind of bruising. He gets right back up and does it again though!!!
We have been to 3 parades, the hot air balloons, Landon has been to two movies (Cars 2 and Smurfs), and most recently the I Cubs baseball game. They lost interest sooner rather than later but it was a fun experience and we love watching their expressions as they see something new!!! Landon and Logan also got to go bowling with their cousins Levi and Nathaniel. They used a ramp most of the time but once Levi started to bowl without the ramp then they all wanted to bowl without it. It took a long time for that ball to reach the pins!!! The looks on their faces were priceless as they watched their ball knock down the pins. I think it was all four of their first time bowling. It was a great time with gramma, aunt Sarah, and all the kids!
Landon continues to show us how smart he is but he also, being very independent, gets in lots of trouble. He isn't listening as well to us as he once was, wanting to push the limits as far as he can get away with. This results in many time outs. Even with all that though he continues to be the sweetest kid! He is always asking questions- very curious, and he has the best memory. When we drive by a place he says the name and when we were there and what we did there (even if it was 6 plus months ago). He is a very happy 3 year old- always on the move and most of the time smiling and giving hugs and kisses. He loves his little friends in moms group too.
We spend alot of time with them so he has some very sweet little friends that he gets to do most activities with. I love that!!! My moms group is full of awesome ladies with really great kids. That way I am able to be very active, keeping the kids outdoors doing activities that they love and that can increase their imagination and learning.
Daddy comes home from work and takes them to the pool alot or we go and do something as a family. We haven't been spending much time at home lately which makes this mommy very tired. I had my 16 week OB apt and all seems to be going well- other than gaining too much weight! I am eating healthy so I don't understand it completely but oh well, it will come off eventually. We find out Sept 6th if it is a boy or girl so we are really excited about that!!!
We also just had Landon' 3 year pics and Logan's 18 month pics taken so we are anxiously awaiting getting them back!!!
